Puhtaasti mekaaninen...Ööh, kyllä ja ei. Siis erot progressiivisen ja lineaarisen jousen välissä ovat lyhyesti seuraavat: Progressiivinen jousi joustaa progressiivisesti, eli alkupätkä menee pehmeästi, ja jäykistyy sitten vähän nopeammin/enemmän loppua/tietyn pituuden jälkeen, ja lineääriset vaimentavat osaltaan "tasaisesti". Asiantuntijoiden mukaan progressivisien jousien käyttö katupyörässä on blingbling, eli ei mitään järkeä. Krossikäytössä enemmän.
Emulaattori on ymmärtääkseni (ja helposti selitettynä) sellainen "suutin", joka ohjaa/säätää öljyn läpivirtaus iskunvaimentajassa. Eli jos laittaa jäykemmät jouset, niin alkuperäinen emulaattori ei pysty käsittämään tätä muutosta, ja seuraamukset voivat asiantuntijoiden mielestä olla huonot. Eli emulaattorin pitäisi vaihtaa jousien mukaan, RaceTechiltä saa koko satsin. Ja tämä kaveri oli/on tosiaan puolueeton tässä tapauksessa.

"Changing the springs and oil will have an effect and you will notice the CHANGE and possibly think that it is better - and in some areas it will be. However the standard Emulator is of low specification and by using heavier springs and thicker oil you are asking it to work even harder than it it already is and currently partially failing.
By adding heavier oil you are slowing down the compression and the rebound and you cannot adjust anything to compensate. This may lead to "Pattering" in bends and "Packing down" under breaking. My advice is to leave it standard until you can afford to do the job properly and ride the bike accordingly for now. Whether you ride on the track or the road if you do not make ALL the necessary suspension changes you may well have serious problems."

"It is the heavier springs which will overload the emulator. Do not take advice on suspension from Chatrooms & Forums unless the guy is internationally known.
I repeat my advice - do it properly or not at all. Your life could depend on it !!!"
Koko paketti osineen, siis jouset, emulaattorit ja pientilpehööreineen olisi ollut vajaat 300 euroa sis postikulut briteistä.
